Crater Lake Downhill Bike Ride

8th Annual Crater Lake Downhill Saturday July 15th 2017
We meet at 5:00AM to be shuttled to Crater Lake National Park 95 miles up the mountain. We share the cost of food for breakfast, lunch and rest stops. We arrive at the second overlook which has a rest room for staging the ride. We prepare our bikes, pump up the tires, fill our water bottles and put on warm clothing. At 8:30AM we start down the mountain with our SAG vehicle following with Joan Hilbert and Kenney Fouchek and you will soon began shedding clothes as we got into lower elevations. The first 50 miles is a HOOT gliding along this beautiful highway with little effort. We have lunch at Boulder Flat Campground along the North Umpqua River. Our next rest stop is Susan Creek Day Use Area, then on to Glide. We turn right onto Wild River Drive and then North Bank Road for the last 10 miles of the ride. The riders usually finish around 3:00PM. After the ride we go to Si Casa Flores Mexican Restaurant in Sutherlin for a celebration of the ride and Ron Hilbert's and Shelby Filley's Birthday party.
